Monday Moanin Thoughts #296 MSU Agribusiness Management Graduate Talks The Three C’s
Happy first Monday Moanin of May 2018 to all of you. This past weekend I attended my daughter Emma’s Commencement Exercises from Michigan State University. My wife and I are so proud of her accomplishments and we are thrilled that she became the third person from our immediate family to be a Spartan graduate. Me in 1977 (ouch), son Paul in 2003 and now Emma in 2018. As with many graduations, there is a student speaker chosen to address her/his fellow graduates. Alondra Guadalupe Alvizo was yesterday’s speaker and she highlighted the three C’s that helped guide her towards graduation. As a first generation immigrant from Mexico, her family faced many challenges as they settled in Detroit. Alondra mentioned how her Mother was her hero and that the opportunities that she was given as a result of the move was something she was very thankful for. I couldn’t help but think of how educators from around the country are winding down their school year and how her three C’s could help as they experience the challenges of finishing a school year strong and focused. Check out Alondra’s 3 C’s below and see how they could assist you in your work. They are;
Courage, Consistency, and Curiosity.
Good luck to you and your students as the end of the year draws near. How you can define and use these C’s to help guide your practice this week? In addition to Alondra’s, are there other C’s that you will focus on this week?
Have a great week and find the good stuff.
