Monday Moanin Thoughts #134 Thank You Building Admin Teams- You Rock!

Welcome to this beautiful November 2014 Monday Moanin.  This week I want to continue with the November theme of practicing gratitude.  The individuals that I want to recognize this week are building administrators.  It is truly a challenging and thankless job and many times their efforts are under appreciated. It is also a position that lends itself to only hearing the challenges and issues that are within the school community.  Rarely do teams hear about the good things  that are going on. Listed below are the 1o things I appreciate about building Administrative teams and what they do for our schools. What am I missing?

• The way they provide recognition of students and staff.
• How they support and encourage teachers with new ideas and strategies.
• Their ability to understand  and reinforce good instruction.
• How they visit classrooms and encourage students to do their best.
• The passion they bring on a daily basis.
• How they accept and own responsibility for their buildings.
• Their communication skills and how they use different methods to get the message out.
• Their enjoyment of kids and how their decisions are made with the kids in mind.
• How they lead with humility and treat everyone with respect.
• Their ability to provide hope and humor for everyone in their school community.

With Thanksgiving in a few weeks, I want all Principals and their teams to know how much gratitude and appreciation I have for their commitment and effort. I appreciate all that you do. You do it everyday with class and integrity. Thank you,  have a great week and keep finding the good stuff.
