Monday Moanin Thoughts #89- Three Ideas To Guide Your Week

Welcome to the  first Monday Moanin of December, 2013. Today marks the first day back to the grind after what was hopefully a restful and enjoyable Thanksgiving break. Sometimes it is a challenge to get your motor running as you return from a break. Listed below are three ideas that may help you have a productive week.

Tom Ewer reminds us that studies have shown that multitasking actually can reduce productivity by up to 40 percent. He suggests that to increase productivity, focus on one task at a time. Focus on quality and if you can do five things average and or two of them really well, do the two things.

This week don’t worry about being perfect, strive to be effective. Stephen Covey wrote, ” being effective is learning to do that which produces the desired result.”   Will Edwards adds “being effective is consistently doing the things that will bring about the results you are after.”

Lastly, be reminded that leadership is about them, not you. Bill Treasurer shares; ” Help your people be eminently successful. When they are, you will be deemed an effective leader…because of their work. Focus on helping them do great work.” This is a wonderful time of year to encourage and support your staff, they need it.

I hope that you find these three ideas doable this week. Good luck, get to work and keep finding the good stuff.
