Monday Moanin Thoughts #301 Final Week Of School? Try These Out.

Happy mid June 2018 Monday Moanin to all of you. For many of you this may be your last week of school for the 2017-18 year. These days for many students can be filled with lots of emotions, distractions, and for some, anxiety. One example for these behaviors  is that not every student is looking forward to the summer recess. Depending on their family situation, they may be spending part of the summer with a parent or grandparent that live away from their home, community, or in another state. The final week can bring out many of these feelings resulting in poor behavior and choices.  To combat these during the final week,  try focusing on these three C’s.

Care about all of your students.

Connect with and take the time to really listen and see  them.

Calm leadership is needed. Reassure them that they can handle the summer and that you believe in each one of them.

Thank you for all that you do and have a great final week. Find the good stuff, it’s there!
