Monday Moanin Thoughts #173 Begin A New Year Focusing On These Two Areas

Happy Final Monday in August 2015. Many of you are busily preparing for your opening staff meeting or are well into the new year. After meeting with several building and district administrators during the month of August. Two topics were common during our conversations, consistency and quality decision making. As you embark on a new year , these two qualities would be great focus areas.

Consistency is critical to building trust, providing security and confidence for your students and staff. They know what they can count on from you. As you reflect on the level of your consistency, you can’t help but examine your decision making.  Before making decisions, slow down and pay attention. Most decisions do not have to be done quickly. When you take some time and seek more information, usually a better outcome happens.

So, during September,  put some intentionality on being more consistent and making quality decisions.

Have a great week and keep finding the good stuff.

Quote of the week from Dan Rockwell:

“Dull comes before dramatic. Boring choices, that no one sees, make leaders.”
