Monday Moanin Thoughts # 102, Happy St. Patricks Day, Time to Celebrate

Happy St.Patricks Day!  This is a great Monday Moanin in March 2014.  As the son of a very proud Irishman, this is a day of celebration. It is time to put an end to winter and enjoy the hope of spring. It is  time to give the Lenten sacrifices a rest for at least one day. It is a day to enjoy family and friends with food, spirits and fellowship. Go out and get your green on , everyone is Irish today.  Teachers and educators use this great day of celebration to  tell your story. The challenges and criticisms levied on educators everywhere are hurtful and disrespectful. As a result, many educators are cautious to share the successes of their work. The environment is not safe for public school educators to toot their own horns. Enough, in the honor of the day, make this the day to begin responding to the negative perception of educators.  Begin sharing with pride the accomplishments of your work. Write your blogs, tweet, invite people to your website, communicate with family, friends, colleagues, students, and community members the pride you feel for your profession. Stop acting cautious, be proud , be heard, and be seen. Let me close with an Irish Blessing that was shared with me when I began my teaching career  in 1977.  The words and thoughts are what educators try to provide daily.

May God give you…

For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.

Have a great week and keep finding the good stuff!
