Monday Moanin Thoughts #146 Are You Making The Right Choices During Times Of Change?

Welcome to the final Monday Moanin of frigid February, 2015. During the past several  MMT posts, I have written about enhancing your practice through collaboration, creating healthy tension, sharing highlights, validation, praise, and growth. By focusing on these areas, my hope is that your organization and you as a leader,  are more effective everyday. However there is another issue that can cause great anxiety and that is change. This week, I  wonder, are you making the right choices during times of change? Only you can answer this question.

To assist your reflection regarding your choices are five questions. They are:

What are your core beliefs?

What skills and strengths do you have?

Where do you need to improve?

How are your students affected by the change?

How can you receive support?

Making the right choices during times of change is a challenge for all people in your organization. But most important it is very personal to you. Though it seems Polly Anna, keeping a positive attitude can help you deal with the uncertainties of change. It is also important to communicate with colleagues and not rush or hurry into implementing something that you are not completely ready for. Be open and ask for help and support. Dr. Justin Tarte writes ; ” if you change nothing, nothing will change.”

Good luck, embrace the journey, and keep finding the good stuff!
