Monday Moanin Thoughts #107 Make Your Week Great

Welcome to the  final Monday Moanin of April 2014. Hopefully you are enjoying the sunshine and  some outdoor activities in your area. As I was preparing to write this , I was inspired by a column that Kevin Duam wrote for Inc. magazine.  He wrote about seven things that people could do to make their Monday awesome. As a result, I thought about writing three things that can make your  week great. How about not lamenting about the challenges you face and address things you have control over ? Here are three ways:

1. Reach out and contact a positive person in your professional life. Invite them to visit your building. Take them on a tour and end with a nice visit, maybe lunch. Get inspired and be open to their wisdom. By the way , some of those positive people are not far, they may be in your building or district.  This doesn’t have to be an event , make it happen.

2. Change your routine. Seek out different staff and students and listen to them. Talk about different topics. If you typically rehash your weekend  and share your family experiences,  consider a different topic. Eat lunch with different colleagues. Create experiences that are  positive and that provide you with energy.

3. Look for the good around you. Focus on finding the good stuff. Your staff and their learners are doing wonderful things everyday. Notice, celebrate , and validate.

By doing these three things, your week will become more productive and energizing.  Get to work and have a great week.
